Sterling Personnel, Inc. is recruiting for a Certified Medical Coder for our client in the Corpus Christi, TX area. The Certified Medical Coder will be managing insurance claims, reviewing patient accounts, and billing statements.
Certified Medical Coder Responsibilities:
- Assign ICD and CPT codes to all inpatient and outpatient medical records, in accordance with accuracy and productivity requirements
- Maintain coding compliance for multi-specialty clinic
- Review/Audit patient disputes surrounding inappropriate coding in a timely manner
- Review/Audit insurance denials related to coding questions in a timely manner, providing remedy as needed
- Manage multiple tasks, prioritizing workload in an efficient manner
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Assist the billing/collection specialists in verifying and correction coding issuers per the insurance request or claim denials
- Perform other duties as assigned
Certified Medical Coder Requirements:
- 2+ years of medical coding experience
- Graduate of an AHIMA or AAPC Certified Coding Program
- Coding Certification required - CPC through AAPC
- Knowledge of Pharmacology and Medical Terminology
