Job Description

Sterling Personnel, Inc. is recruiting for a Safety Manager for our client in Houston, TX (77012). The Safety Manager will be responsible for the planning, implementation and supervision of the onsite corporate safety, security, and safety audits. This is a full time, temp to hire position with an expected schedule of Monday through Friday from 8AM – 5PM. 

The ideal candidate for this position has strong leadership skills and is highly dependable. 

Safety Manager Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure environmental compliance in all aspects and Represent Safety Department 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a management safety system, that focuses on employee involvement, safety performance, injury prevention, continuous improvement, and environmental excellence
  • Report incidences of unsafe procedures in writing to management
  • Develop, implement, and manage all safety policies and procedures and records, in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and coordinate an accident prevention program 
  • Design and conduct comprehensive safety audits and provide follow up to ensure corrective action is identified and implemented
  • Develop and deliver training to supervisors and managers on incident prevention and instigation of all new miss injuries 
  • Develop, coordinate, and lead the discussions with the appropriate senior management and supervisory personnel on all new misses and recordable injuries via an Incident Review Board to ensure root cause is identified and corrective action is implemented in a timely manner
  • Provide a review of all safely related topics for the company’s new hire orientation, to ensure new employees are introduced to our goals of a safe working environment 
Safety Manager Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or an equivalent 
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 3-5+ years of experience or training in a related field
  • TWIC card required 
  • Must have experience with designing, implementing, & maintaining Site Safety & Security plans
  • Must be able to comprehend instructions and memos
