Sterling Personnel, Inc. is recruiting for a Senior Industrial Accountant for our client in Pascagoula, MS. The Senior Industrial Accountant performs a range of professional accounting, technical review, and general ledger functions, including journal entries, payroll, cash management, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
Senior Industrial Accountant Responsibilities:
- Reviews and reconciles cash and accounting transactions, and other financial activities; reviews accounting records, verifies fund integrity, prepares journal entries, corrects errors, and resolves accounting issues within the scope of authority
- Performs a range of accounting, technical review, and general ledger functions; reviews and approves documents, and posts journal entries and accounting entries; exercises independent judgment and corrects errors within company policy guidelines
- Processes payroll; calculates time sheets, runs, proofs, processes, and transmits payroll files
- Maintains inventory of fixed assets
- Collect information for audit data request
- Assists the Finance Director with budget management, financial reporting, insurance, internal controls, and annual audit
- Assists with the preparation of Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), and annual budget
- Support physical inventory count and reconciliation process
- Maintain control of the fixed Asset Register in SAP
- Supports the relationship between the company and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with clients, visitors, and company staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and company information; performs related duties as assigned or required
Senior Industrial Accountant Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience in Tax Accounting, manufacturing, or fixed assets
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and Excel
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a related field
- Experience with SAP preferred
- CPA certification preferred
