Job Description

Sterling Personnel, Inc. is recruiting for a Payroll Clerk to assist our client temporarily, located in the Corpus Christi, TX area. This position will be responsible for compiling and recording employee time and payroll data. This is a full-time position with an expected schedule of Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm.

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working in a refinery, will be well organized, adaptable and able to communicate clearly to the team and supervisors. 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Review time sheets, work charts, wage compensation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies. 
  • Verify Attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post information onto designated records
  • Compute wages and deductions, and enter data into Avionte Back Office
  • Keep track of leave time, such as vacation, personal, and sick leave for employees
  • Prepare and balance period-end reports, and reconcile issued payrolls, to bank statements
  • Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer’s social security, unemployment, and worker’s compensation payments
  • Maintains employee’s confidentiality and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential 
  • Ensures timely processing of all staff payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard in accounting principles
  • Assist staff with general questions related to payroll, leave accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits, and other pay related issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • 2+ years of Accounting/Payroll experience
  • Heavy Data Entry
